Every day 25,000 people, including more than 10,000 children, die from hunger and related causes. That’s three times the death toll of AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined!
Some 854 million people worldwide are estimated to be undernourished, and high food prices may drive another 100 million into poverty and hunger by the end of this year. Scarcity because of drought and rising inflation has placed millions at risk of starvation. The problem of hunger is rampant everywhere that Christian Relief Fund works and is especially devastating in the Horn of Africa.
Christian Relief Fund has an abundance of children who currently need sponsorship—especially in these famine areas. Most of our readers already sponsor children. But could you consider sponsoring another child or becoming an advocate for CRF with your friends and small groups? This hunger problem is critical, and we need your help to enlist others to sponsor more vulnerable children.
