Thankful

I saw this quote recently and it felt like a punch to the gut: “Someone else is praying for the things you take for granted.”
We recently camped and had a water spigot on our camp site. I think I am ruined for life, but I couldn’t help but think about how we even have access to clean water when we live outside for a few days. All the while, other people around the world have to walk for four hours one way to find access to dirty and disease-infested water.
This is the month we think about our blessings and thank God for what He has blessed us with; let’s take that a step further and think about what others would be grateful to receive if they only had a chance.
A Christmas gift for a sponsored child.
Clean water and the tools and education to avoid water-born illnesses.
School uniforms and enrollment.
Meals every day of the week.
The list goes on.
This is also the season that there are way too many options offered to those wishing to bless someone else’s life. It is easy to get overwhelmed and do nothing. Make it simple and just pick one blessing. Or two. It’s up to you. Please visit Christian Relief Fund’s website for more information or ideas to bless others this holiday season.
“Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.” John 13:35
